FRAUD WARNING: FRAUD EMAILS LOOK VERY LEGITIMATE

Beware of fraudulent emails and phone calls.

Recently, several scams have used the name of our financial institution, and of other institutions as well. Please understand that Co-op Services Credit Union does not ask anyone to provide sensitive information over the internet or by contacting you by telephone. If you receive an email or phone call requesting you provide account numbers, social security numbers, or other private information discard it. Do not click any links, and do not provide any sensitive information.

Do not call any phone numbers provided in an email, phone or fax message. The only numbers you should contact CSCU at are:

Beware of New IRS Scam (October 5, 2007) - PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO ANY OF THESE SCAMS
The following message is being circulated around the internet, and some of our members have reported receiving the email. The sample below is a phishing message. The sender is trying to get you to click the link. Once you click the link it will take you to a spoofed, or phony, web page and ask you for personal information. You should never click on these links, or provide sensitive information over the internet. If you are ever suspicious of fraudulent emails please report them to the credit union at 800.321.8570 ext. 200.

Notification of Tax Refund,

After the last annual calculation of your fiscal activity the Internal Revenue Service has determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of $288.40.

A refund can be delayed for a variety of reasons.
For example submitting invalid records or applying after the deadline.
