What is a credit union?
A credit union is a member-owned, non-profit cooperative financial institution formed for the purpose of encouraging savings by offering a fair return, using those savings to make loans at competitively low interest rates to members, and providing other financial services. A common bond of association unites members of a credit union. There are more than 12,000 credit unions in the United States; 502 of these are in Michigan. Of nearly 72 million credit union members nationwide, 4 million are Michigan residents.

Are credit unions safe?
Yes. Your money is safe and secure at Co-op Services Credit Union. Your deposits are insured to at least $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The NCUA is the federal government regulator and insurer for credit unions.

How can I open an account at Co-op Services Credit Union?

If the minor does not have a driver's license, then an adult (parent/guardian) is required to be a joint owner on the account.

Co-op Services Credit Union members are required to maintain a minimum savings account balance of $5.00 to take advantage of our full range of financial products and services.
